My new caribous

By

from Breckenridge/boulder foothills

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Miles of dog walking, multi day epic shoveling

My 25 y/o Canadian-made Sorel Caribous are about to die, and are extinct on the marketplace (only cheaply, poorly made in SE Asia now for many years). I split every week in the Colorado mountains between my acreage at 8'500 ft, and my ski condo at 9'600 ft, and log many hours and miles in the snow, and consider myself lucky! I trust these will age gracefully, like my Caribous, and be a little more stylish, as well!

Boots are very warm and comfortable. My normal size is 9 and I got 9.5. I had to exchange because of loose stitching on back of the boots.

      BEST SNOW BOOTS!!!

      By

      from New York, NY

My husband bought me these snow boots and I actually look forward to putting them on during a snow storm! Even when it's not snowing I always wear them. They keep my feet super warm during the cold weather months. I will be buying a pair for my sister as well.

I got these boots to take to Norway for two weeks in February. I was a little hesitant because they are Uggs and waterproof (what???). To my very good surprise, they were very much waterproof/ water resistant. We had about two feet of snow whilst there and my feet never got wet. I was, however, expecting my feet to be warmer than they were. I still had to put in foot warmers but once in, my feet were toasty without being sweaty- which is a big plus for me. I usually have cold cold feet. We spent a day in Oslo walking around the slush and my feet stayed dry. It was warmer there than in Lofoten and I didn't add the warmers. I was fairly comfortable walking around the city, but at the end of the day my feet did wish for some arch support.

We wore crampons most of the time in Lofoten. Without them, the boots had okay traction but not great. I wouldn't want to wear these on ice. I would recommend them for winter, snowy wear. They certainly did a fine job on most counts.
